- No. Obsidian is designed for people anywhere in the world who want access to US dollar financial services. We verify identity through standard global KYC procedures — no SSN or US address required.
- Your USD balance is held in USDC, a regulated US dollar stablecoin, in a self-custodied account only you control. Funds are not lent out, not used for proprietary trading, and not held on any single exchange.
- Your spending limit is set by the value of your connected brokerage assets and your USDC wallet balance. As your collateral grows, your available limit grows with it.
- Anywhere Visa is accepted — over 150 million merchants worldwide, online and in person. Pay in USD or have your card automatically convert to the local currency at checkout.
- Referral from an existing member is the most common path. Direct applications are reviewed on a rolling basis by our Membership Committee.
